Excel is a spreadsheet program, used to store and manipulate data (mainly numerical, but also text).  Having entered the data into the spreadsheet, you can then perform a wide range of calculations upon it, and then format the data before you print it out.  You can also create a wide variety of graphs from your data to display the information in a more interesting manner.

Excel made by Microsoft, is a powerful tool that is comprehensive and easy to use at all levels.  It runs in Windows 95 (or Windows NT) and is compatible with other Windows 95 programs.  This means that you can copy and paste data between Excel and other programs, such as Word . You can also attach Excel  files to mail messages and send them to other people.
